{"id":50998,"date":"2025-03-25T12:18:01","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T12:18:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/?p=50998"},"modified":"2025-03-26T09:46:24","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T09:46:24","slug":"imi-jobs-portal-goes-live-with-work-placements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/2025\/news\/imi-jobs-portal-goes-live-with-work-placements\/","title":{"rendered":"IMI Jobs Portal goes live with work placements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/jobs.theimi.org.uk\/work-experience-placements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMI Jobs Portal<\/a> supporting work placements for school-aged pupils is now live, connecting young learners and educators with businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The portal is part of the Automotive Work Experience (AWE) Programme, which was launched by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/?s=school+of+thought\">School of Thought Automotive<\/a> in partnership with the IMI and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/?s=autotech+academy\">Autotech Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to tackle the skills crisis in the sector by enabling businesses to engage directly with the next generation and showcase the many careers available to young people.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolofthoughtautomotive.co.uk\/work-experience\/#awe-register\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Placements can be arranged<\/a> to suit both employer and pupil, ranging from one day to one week or even a few hours a week, with School of Thought Automotive providing comprehensive support throughout, including work experience packs with clear guidance on structuring placements, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting pupils\u2019 growth.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-46160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/BSM_SchoolOfThought_290224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"483\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/BSM_SchoolOfThought_290224.jpg 860w, https:\/\/www.bodyshopmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/BSM_SchoolOfThought_290224-768x431.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dave Reece, founder of School of Thought Automotive, said: <em>&#8220;<\/em>Addressing the skills gap is not just about filling current vacancies.
