Steer Electric Eastleigh apprentice Max McGowan has won the School of Thought<\/a> \/ SATA UK<\/a> Spraygun Design Competition which was run during Automechanika Birmingham 2025 in June.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, McGowan received his very own personalised SATAjet X 5500<\/a> from School of Thought co-founder Dave Reece, who hand-delivered the one-of-a-kind spraygun to the young apprentice\u2019s place of work.<\/p>\n

Apprentice Max McGowan wins<\/h2>\n

Reece said of apprentice Max McGowan’s design: \u201cWell done Max \u2013 your creativity and passion continue to inspire. The winning entry is a striking and creative design which has been brought to life on a customised SATAjet X 5500. It looks absolutely fantastic.<\/p>\n

To have this unique design turned into a real spraygun was a proud moment for McGowan, who was delighted to receive his prize from Reece in front of the whole Steer Electric Eastleigh<\/a> team.<\/p>\n

Also on hand at the presentation were Jim Swann (Steer Automotive Group\u2019s academy development manager-south), Paul Clements (regional managing director Steer South and Wales), Chris Dore (Steer Automotive Group operations director), and Barry Shaw (Steer\u2019s regional head of engineering).<\/p>\n
